Two forms of moriage detaining can be seen on this piece. Hundreds of hand applied, small dots of clay slip beads on the inner rim as well as the enamel beading on the handles..
Hand painted with beautiful detailThe creamer and sugar bowl have a matte green banding which surrounds the raised moriage design. The design has tan ovals separated with deen green moriage scroll work and red enamel dots.
The Moriage Art Deco creamer stands 3 inches in height, measures 4-1/4 inches from handle to spout. The base diameter of the creamer is 3-1/8 inches.
The Art Deco Moriage Sugar Bowl stands 3 inches in height without the lid in place, 4-1/8 inches with the lid in place. The sugar bowl measures 5-1/2 inches from handle to handle. The upper bowl diameter is 3 inches, the base diameter 3-7/8 inches.
The Noritake Antique Moriage Hand Painted Art Deco Cream & Sugar bears the Green Noritake mark of "M" (Morimura) in a wreath, with "Hand painted" and "Made in Japan" below, a mark that was registered by Nippon Toki Kaisha, Ltd. in 1918 and used until around 1940.
The Noritake Antique Moriage Hand Painted Art Deco Cream & Sugar are in excellent condition with no choips or signs of repair. There is minor wear to the moriage beading mainly on the handles of the sugar bowl, and the small beading at the base.
For the most part the beading is intact and beautiful.
