Vintage From Paul is delighted to offer this stunning, antique Alfred Fenton Sons Staffordshire Elsmere Covered Vegetable Bowl.

Alfred Fenton & Sons were part of the infamous Staffordshire Pottery Row during the late 1800's.  Alfred Fenton & Sons operated from 1887 to 1901 at the Brook Street Works, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent.

The Alfred Fenton & Sons Elsmere pattern has a creamy white earthenware body decorated with a flowing and intricate brown transferware design of flowers and leaves.  The handles have a smaller version of the floral design

The of the base is marked in brown with a crown and "Elsmere A.F. & Sons"

The Alfred Fenton Sons Staffordshire Elsmere Covered Vegetable Bowl is rectangle shaped and measures 10-3/4 inches from handle to handle 6 inches in width, 8-1/2 inches in length and it stands 3-1/4 inches in height without the lid in place, 5-1/4 inches in height with the lid in place.

The Alfred Fenton Sons Staffordshire Elsmere Covered Vegetable Bowl is in near pristine condition having no crazing, cracks, or signs of repair. The only thing that we do see are two very small, pin head or less size, whips on the underside of the lid, which are so small we almost missed them.  Obviously they do not show when the lid is in place.

We ship the day after payment is received using Insured Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation. Parcels are generally received in 2-3 days depending on your location.
