This competition took it's toll on the American industry and many potteries did not survive the decade. Homer Laughlin's management decided to shift their emphasis from consumer dinnerware to commercial ware for the hotel and restaurant trade. 1959 saw the introduction of Homer Laughlin's "Best China" brand vitrified hotel china.
The Homer Laughlin Green banded pattern has a pristine white body with green banding at the rim and inner verge. The rim is a rolled rim.
The Homer Laughlin Best China Green Band Restaurant Ware Rimmed saucers measure 5-3/8 inches in diameter. The cups stand 2-7/8 inches in height, measure 3-1/4 inches at the top and 2-1/4 inches in diameter at the base.
