Imperial Glass EAPG Chatelaine Water Pitcher
Vintage From Paul is pleased to offer this stunning Imperial Glass EAPG Chatelaine Water Pitcher.
In Measell's Imperial Glass book it states "Chatelaine is the collector's name for Imperials # 407 1/2 pattern, which was made in crystal from 1909-1910".
The Chatelaine pattern is geometric, with two medallions on top of each other framed with a fan on top and two double rows of rectangles on either side. A pitcher and tumbler water set was made with this pattern and came primarily in clear and amethyst. This pitcher is shown in The Standard Encyclopedia of Pressed Glass (page 55) by Bill Edwards and Mike Carwile,Collector's Books, 2003. It is referred to as,"One of Imperial glass Company's best known glass water pitcher set patterns. The crystal is scarce and always in demand".
The Imperial Glass EAPG Chatelaine Water Pitcher is in excellent condition. The glass is clear and sparkling. The pattern is well defined and the glass is heavy, older glass. There is however one chip on the foot of the water pitcher which we almost missed as it is difficult to see when the pitcher is standing upright.
The Imperial Glass EAPG Chatelaine Water Pitcher stands 8-3/8 inches in height and measures 7-3/4 inches wide.
