Vintage From Paul is pleased to offer this 3Jackson China Willow Blue Grille Plate.

Jackson China was located in Falls Creek, Pennsylvania and was a major manufacturer of hotel and restaurant ware as well as a producer of various fine china for the home.

Royal Jackson is the main fine china brand that is generally associated with the company today. It was made from 1939 to 1969. Royal Jackson closed in 1985.

Grille plates were popular in the 1950's with the introduction of "T.V. Dinners" which were served in three section aluminum plates.

The Jackson China Willow Blue Grille Plate measure a generous 10-3/8 inches in diameter.

The Jackson China Willow Blue Grille Plate is in excellent condition. The graphics are crisp, the colors vibrant. there is very little if any wear to the graphic on the raised ridge. There is however, on the underside of the plate the signs of a repair to the raised foot. Fortunately the repair is quite solid and is not seen when the plate is sitting flat.

Legend has it that the pattern tells a story of young lovers who risk everything to be together, meet a tragic end and are transformed by love (or perhaps by the gods) into a pair of soaring birds. Whether the pattern was designed to tell the story, or the story invented to explain the pattern doesn't matter; the romantic images of Willow have charmed for more than two centuries.
